At an awards ceremony hosted last night in Beverly Hills, the Television Critics Association announced their award winners for 2010 as part of the annual summer press tour held twice a year by the professional organization.
LOST and AMC’s “Breaking Bad” tied for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. During his acceptance speech, Damon Lindelof thanked assembled critics and proceeded to read all the nasty tweets he got after the LOST finale.

Matthew Fox sees his Emmy nomination as an excellent reason for one last Lost get-together.
“It gives me a great excuse to go to (the award ceremony) and hang out with all the people I did the show with. We’ll have a little reunion and raise a few glasses of champagne to what we did for six years,” says Fox, nominated in the lead actor category for the ABC drama.
He was especially proud that Lost received a best drama nomination for its final season, the heavily scrutinized culmination of a TV phenomenon. “I think the show had created enormous expectations this season and somehow we met or even exceeded them in some respects,” says Fox, who left Hawaii for the mainland with his family only a week ago. “Seeing the show getting the nomination and (executive producers) Damon (Lindelof) and Carlton (Cuse) and Jack Bender and the other actors getting nominated, I feel great about it.”

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films has announced the winners of 36th Annual Saturn Awards. In the television category, “Lost” went above “Fringe” in taking home the most prizes. The ABC series which ended its 6 years run in May is awarded with three while “Fringe” gets two.
The first award for “Lost” is dedicated to the series’ star Josh Holloway. The depicter of Sawyer wins Best Actor on Television while Anna Torv of “Fringe” wins the female counterpart. The other two awards are for Best DVD Television Release, particularly for the fifth season’s set, and for the coveted Best Television Series.
In terms of chance, “Lost” actually misses a lot because the TV series received eight nominations while “Fringe” only got three. The same case happens to “True Blood” which took in five nominations but left with none.

Sunday’s supersized “Lost” finale just got a big gift from the television academy.
Last night the academy’s Board of Governors approved a rule change that will allow ABC to submit the two and a half-hour episode for Emmy consideration.
Previously, submissions were limited to episodes only twice the normal running time (or two hours for the standard primetime drama).
The move should give the highly-anticipated series finale a leg up in the original drama series category.
