Mira Furlan’s husband stated in a Croatian magazine that she asked to be written out out of the show because she didn’t like constantly being in Hawaii.

“She got bored of Hawaii. She got ”island fever” – that’s how cast of Lost jokingly calls it. Simply, she didn’t want to be on that island, she didn’t want to work that job, so she made a deal with the producers to kill her character off.”

Her husband also mentioned that she might be back for the next season:

“…her character is pretty popular with fans of the series, so they [the writers] left  a possibility for comeback next season.”

It seems we just started watching new episodes of LOST and now we have to wait until April 24 to see a new one, whoa the poor life of a LOST fan.

This week’s episode answered a few questions and as always put more in its place.

Let’s review some of what we learned.

Walt is now living with grandma and he is disappointed in his father, Michael is miserable and the “island won’t let him die”, the rumors about Mr. Friendly’s sexual preference were put to rest, and Widmore does have a huge role with this island. What do we still need to find out?

Well, where to begin??

I thought the story line was good; we were able to finally see what happened to Michael once he left the island. It was also really great to see two of the characters Libby and Tom that had been killed in previous episodes. I loved seeing John’s group all seated in the living room like it was some family gathering, their reactions to having Ben among them was priceless. Finally we see that Miles was able to get that grenade out of his mouth, I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see how, maybe in a future episode.

As for the whole Alex, Karl and Danielle storyline, well, half of me was glad to see that they were part of the story again, but the other half of me thought it felt as if the writers are trying to find away to tie up lose end rather quickly and I don’t like any series that does that.

Over all I was expecting a much bigger mid season finale but I was relieved that it was not one of the main characters that were killed, I am not saying that I am glad Danielle and Karl are possibly dead, I was just thinking that this episode would leave me dying of anticipation until it returns in April.

As I am sure all of you have your theories as to what will happen next and I have mine, I know we all hope to get our answers soon, but not too soon.

“Meet Kevin Johnson” was the lowest-rated episode in the history of LOST, with 11.3 million viewers. Up until yesterday, season 3′s 15th episode entitled  “Left Behind”,  which averaged 11.5 million viewers  had been the lowest- rated episode.
Please note that since the show started, the way people watch television has changed significantly. A lot of people choose to record it, watch it online on abc.com or download it on Itunes, for example. This could explain why the ratings continue to drop.

Building on its lead-in, ABC’s “Lost” posted a definitive victory in Thursday’s 9 o’clock hour among Total Viewers (11.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.4/12). “Lost” won its time period for the eighth straight week in the key young adult sales demographic.

“Lost” qualified as Thursday’s No. 1 TV program in Total Viewers (11.3 million) across each of the key adult demographics: A18-34 (3.8/12), A18-49 (4.4/12) and A25-54 (5.2/12).

Some people expected a more shocking ending to yesterday’s episode because it was a mid-season finale. Others think it was totally unexpected and mind-blowing.

Almost everyone thinks Karl is dead, (he wasn’t a very significant character on the show), but there are some doubts about Alex’s mother’s fate. Some fans are saying she can’t be dead, because we haven’t seen any flashback of her, which might be very important.

The writers’ strike may end up being the best thing that ever happened to Lost.

ABC is said to be finalizing a post-strike spring schedule that not only hands Lost its best available time slot, but promises to further strengthen the network’s stronghold on Thursday night.

According to multiple sources, ABC plans on airing this season’s final five* Lost episodes on Thursdays at 10 pm/ET beginning in late April, where it will follow all-new episodes of Grey’s freakin’ Anatomy! Throw in fresh installments of Ugly Betty at 8 pm and you’ve got yourself the most formidable one-two-three punch since the early days of CBS’ Survivor/CSI/Without a Trace smashup. Creatively speaking, I’d go so far as to say this rivals NBC’s storied Must-See-TV juggernaut back in the ’90s.

And I haven’t even gotten to the best part.

The best part is that I’m hearing that ABC is strongly considering keeping this dream lineup intact this fall… and beyond.

I don’t know about you, but this almost makes up for ABC’s mishandling of [insert any number of show titles here].

This just in: I’m now hearing that Lost’s final arc may consist of six episodes, not five. No, Team Darlton isn’t making an extra episode this season. Rather, the final installment of the current run (aka Episode 8) will likely be held to kick off the final batch of five. According to my spies, Episode 7 makes for a better, more logical, break.
