Spike TV’s annual Scream awards — honoring the best in sci-fi, fantasy, comics and horror — has scored a major geek pop coup: Scream 2010 (airing Oct. 19 at 9 p.m.) will include a “Farewell Tribute To Lost” that will bring together many members of the cast for the first time since they filmed the May finale. Jorge Garcia (Hurley), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), and Harold Perrineau (Michael), as well as exec producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, are confirmed to appear, and additional cast members are expected to be announced soon.

Emerson’s Pick: This one gets tricky! ”Let say that actors who appear on ‘Lost’ cancel each other out. Then let’s say Aaron Paul is an astonishing actor. Maybe it’s his year. And besides, I have to recuse myself and pick the non-Lost player.

“This conversation makes me very nervous.”

Emerson’s too good an actor to let that nervousness show on Sunday. But win or lose, we’ll know what’s going on in his mind. And if he takes home the hardware, Emerson said he will be especially proud for winning in such a critically acclaimed season.

“We are living through the second Golden Age of Television,” Emerson said. “There’s a lot of great stuff out there.”

Congratulations to LOST editors Stephen Semel, Mark J. Showrunners will get the celeb treatment at the Aug. 21 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Presenters for this year’s Creative Arts kudos — the precursor to the following week’s primetime Emmycast — will feature some of TV’s top showrunners, including Ryan Murphy (“Glee”), Damon Lindelof (“Lost”), Clyde Phillips (“Dexter”), Matthew Weiner (“Mad Men”) and Steve Levitan (“Modern Family”).

But the star wattage won’t be diminished: The showrunners will be paired with talent from their series. Murphy will be joined on stage by Jane Lynch, for example, while Christina Hendricks will share the podium with Weiner; Elizabeth Mitchell will stand next to Lindelof; John Lithgow will join Phillips; and Rico Rodriguez will stand with Levitan.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are set for Saturday, Aug. 21; a two-hour special of highlights from the kudofest will air Aug. 27 on E!

At an awards ceremony hosted last night in Beverly Hills, the Television Critics Association announced their award winners for 2010 as part of the annual summer press tour held twice a year by the professional organization.

LOST and AMC’s “Breaking Bad” tied for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. During his acceptance speech, Damon Lindelof thanked assembled critics and proceeded to read all the nasty tweets he got after the LOST finale.

UPDATE: Here’s a summary of Damon’s speech, courtesy of Rob Owen:

“Lost” executive producer Damon Lindelof brought the funny, noting that no “Lost” cast members showed up for the TCA Awards this time as he looked out at most of the cast of freshman winner “Glee.” “I remember when the ‘Lost’ actors still cared about us,” Lindelof said. “It’s coming [Ryan] Murphy, it’s coming.”

He also read some messages he supposedly received on Twitter from disgruntled “Lost” fans after the finale:

“I started this Twitter account just to let you know how disappointed I am. You blew it big time.”

“Hey douche, instead of backpacking in Europe or whatever the [heck] you’re doing, how about giving me six years of my life back.”

“Has anyone accused you of being an emotional terrorist yet? And research these words: “closure” and “actual explanations.” Those could be handy in future works.”

“You suck. Please don’t ruin ‘Star Trek’ by ending it in Klingon purgatory.”

On the morning of the Emmy nominations: “If ‘outstanding’ means destorying an entire six-season series with a single episode, then you guys are a shoe-in.”

“You’re a dirty liar. You never knew, you made it all up, you betrayed us all, you betrayed me and I hope you rot [expletive deleted]. Signed, JJ Abrams.”

Lindelof did get sincere: “Six years ago I sat on my first TCA panel before the show premiered and I was terrified and absolutely convinced we would be canceled after a couple of episodes. And most of all I had very little faith the show could sustain as a series. Maybe a season but beyond that, nothing. All the critics in this room, despite a protective cynicism that comes with your jobs, somehow you did have faith, and despite overwhelming, evidence to the contrary, you put your words, your writing and your reputations behind our show. And when I read your words I began to wonder, was I wrong? That maybe, just maybe, there were two seasons there. So I want all of you to know I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for being John Locke to my Jack Shepard.”

Matthew Fox sees his Emmy nomination as an excellent reason for one last Lost get-together.

“It gives me a great excuse to go to (the award ceremony) and hang out with all the people I did the show with. We’ll have a little reunion and raise a few glasses of champagne to what we did for six years,” says Fox, nominated in the lead actor category for the ABC drama.

He was especially proud that Lost received a best drama nomination for its final season, the heavily scrutinized culmination of a TV phenomenon. “I think the show had created enormous expectations this season and somehow we met or even exceeded them in some respects,” says Fox, who left Hawaii for the mainland with his family only a week ago. “Seeing the show getting the nomination and (executive producers) Damon (Lindelof) and Carlton (Cuse) and Jack Bender and the other actors getting nominated, I feel great about it.”
