The Vertex: How Coldplay Accidentally Wrote The Perfect Soundtrack For LOST

Thanks to Av Sinensky for the following:

I am sure you are just as excited for the Lost premiere tomorrow night as I am. In that vein, we have posted a Lost-themed article over at The Vertex, titled How Coldplay Accidentally Wrote The Perfect Soundtrack For “Lost.” It draws parallels and thematic connections between Lost and Coldplay’s recent album and I think you’d enjoy it.

yep :) this is the perfect song, I made my own montage video to it, it quite long, over 8 mins!
I thank you, Campetin, you have been an inspiration to me! :)

Campetin's IPF videos totally got me into Coldplay - and they always worked so well with the show, lyrics-wise and the music worked for all the videos perfectly.

Whilst I enjoyed the Lost parallels, many of which I'd considered before, the writer is so ignorant when it comes to music knowledge. Claiming Coldplay lack depth and ambition and to even loosely equate the styles of Travis and Radiohead shows a completely redundant reviewer who needs to examine his pretentious arrogance and realise he has no grasp of what he's talking about. Rant over.

i urge everyone who read this article to check out the song "Swans" by Islands. it is on the album "Return to the Sea". This album came out around Season 2 or 3, as a continuation of themes Islands started with a different band called The Unicorns, those themes being death and thereafter. They finished a Unicorns album with a song called "Ready to Die" and started an Islands album with a song called "Swans" which is essentially the protagonist of the song waking up on a deserted island and dealing with his mortality and fate.

Now I know the island isn't purgatory but "Swans" still will evoke the feeling of the pilot episode and with season 6 being a throwback to season 1 i thought people might enjoy the song. sorry for the length, i am extremely excited for tomorrow.

when i listen to this album it reminds of lost so much. you have a song called 42, which is one of the numbers. viva la vida reminds me of bens state of mind. one of the songs seems to have like a lost intro sound bite to it then you got this "lost" which fits in so perfect to the whole story. maybe coldplay were inspired. no matter what both work well. as there previous song "Fix You" Fits Jack in more ways then you can imagine. awesome
