The story, characters, and dialogue get increasingly better each week, but unfortunately, we have to deal with absolutely abysmal CGI graphics. My word, that submarine was horrendous and served to significantly un-immerse me from this story. Anyways, hopefully Star Trek nails it and JJ can throw some cash our way. What a fantastic episode!

Hmmmm, (rubs his chin):

1. Anyone elso think Kate quit the Finding Claire Plan awfully casually?? Was all the hullaballoo about giving up Aaron nonsense?

2. Jack and Sayid swam underground into ancient tunnels with heiroglyphs everywhere - and didn't think of asking about it??

"Yep, I got one of these under my house too... Beavers..."

The H-Bomb has to be dropped from a height and detonated before landing to maximize it's explosive potential. This H-Bomb is underground already. Faraday must have discovered that the two energies going off simultaneously would negate each other. This will create a bright light and whoosh the Losties will evaporate. To Richard it would appear that they died but you and I know that they are being sent Back to the Future!!!!!

Unfortunately I think Ben is going to die. He is going to save Locke when Richard tries to kill Locke. We are being led to believe that Richard and Ben are conspiring against Locke but ultimately Ben will finally be revealed to be a "good" guy. He will then redeem himself in the eyes of the Island/Alex.

They already gave us the shot at Kate which turned out to be Sayid shooting the Other. They are not going to kill her again, that would be lame.

To further add to my theory: Negating the two energies would not cause an explosion two times as great. The two opposite energies would instead cause an opposite reaction, An Implosion. And we could see that the hatch definitely imploded on itself. Think about it this way: particle colliders. They accelerate particles beyond light speed and smash them together. They will not cause a massive explosion but what scientists hope will be little black holes that will implode on themselves. If that can be used as an example.
So by detonating the bomb you would be smashing these energies together and negating it with an implosion not an explosion.

The H bomb is the failsafe. That I like. It is either the H-bomb that they have found a way to release the energy safely or they know from Daniel's notes that it would take something like the energy of an H-BOmb to negate the energy. Or we must realize that the two energies combined may cancel themselves out somehow, or combine to become a different type of energy. We know that the hatch did blow up and blew Desmond so far he went back in time!

@superk15: Yeah that is true, the island or smokie must have some influence over the losties (at least) even "off island" since most of the oceanic six have had either dreams or hallucinations that are too real to dismiss. also Michael was immortal "off island" so the effects of the island is not limited to it.

Regarding this episode i was somewhat disappointed as someone said also that it wasn't very "Richard Alpert-centric". sure, he was featured a lot more than usual and we got yet another hint that he is "very, very" old but nothing more than that. Not sure if I want the writers to explain him fully that would ruin the mystery-quality that he has but some sort of background-info would be nice.

Also I agree with the comment someone had about Locke being cool and all-knowing at first and at the end we saw somewhat of a mad man peeking out.

I believe Ben will try to kill him again but Richard will stop him when he himself realises that John is in fact doing this for the good of Island.

Here's my theory, it's not a good one or a specific one but I have two ideas on the major outcome of the show.

I believe the show either is all about how the losties are the key to changing the timeloop that has the island and ending it, that they indeed CAN change the future. In that the future has always been the same loop and they break it buy "changing the rules" as said in the show by Ben (I think).

OR

they are just apart of the same loop and everything they do, every attempt at changing the future is in fact exactly what is suppose to happen. example Sayids attempt on Bens life turning him "evil" and Faraday warning Chang so Miles leaves the island. It's all happend before and will all happen again. it's a classic timetravel paradox.

Either way it's going to be a saweet finale I think. with an end and also with a new beginning so that we get a glimpse on what will take place in the last(!!) season.

Excellent...just excellent

if the h bomb is the failsafe how did it not blow up the whole island like you say!!
The H bomb has been leaking it wont be nearly as powerful after 20 something years of leaking

The H bomb won't be going off. Faraday says that The Incident is a release of energy and he must USE the H bomb to NEGATE that energy. Otherwise they will need to incase the energy in cement and push a button every 108 seconds. Siding with WHH, the hatch is built and the energy in contained in the cement just as Faraday described. When Locke decides to not push the button the energy is released. Desmond says he knows what to do, he goes and turns the failsafe to NEGATE the energy. What do we know that can negate the energy? The H BOMB. The H Bomb is the failsafe!

U know this is kinda random, but if the smoke monster can't leave the island, how did it talk to Jack at the hospital in the form of Christian?

Unless that was just Jack going crazy. I thought it was the smoke monster because the smoke alarm was going off.

I totally agree with the fact that Rose and Bernard will be with the temple group. The actors only ever show up at the start and end of the seasons, so it's most likely where we will see them.
I also have a feeling that Dr chang is still alive in 'present' time. Mrs Chang told miles he was dead but how could she know if she left? Maybe she was just too angry about the circumstances on which she left him.
There has always been two ominous figures on the island, Jacob and smokey. And remember under the temple on the wall, there were glyphs of smokey and ?Anubis?. Anyway, could Jacob just be a representation of it?
There is a lot of evidence to suggest jack being Jacob, but I'm not convinced. I think the writers made the names so similar to throw us off.
What if Jacob is... Hurley!!! :O

Re: Jacob using Locke's body.....I've thought this ever since he came back and no longer seemed like the Locke we know (great acting by TOQ on that count). I'd go a step further and say that the whole ritual that RA administered to little John and (probably many other kids) was important because Jacob can't posses just any body. He/It needs a "chosen vessel." Unwittingly, the Box Man has been manipulated by Jacob ever since he got to the island so that Jacob could take over his body.

When Ben killed him, the reason was that he realized John MIGHT just get back to the island. He had no desire to kill him and talked him down from suicide intentionally, but when he realized that John knew how to get back, Ben knew he had to be stopped to prevent Jacob obtaining his new vessel.

This is why Ben tells RA "I tried."

Once again THE BOMB CANNOT BE THE INCIDENT. That is not how things have always happened. There'd be no hatches, no Dharma village, no Black Rock, no anything. It's a freaking H-Bomb. It will not go off without drastically altering the future.

Excellent Episode and wonderful thread.

The funniest part was @Swami's comment about just noticing richard's agelessness LOL. I'd rather believe he was joking.

Except for the Sub submerging scene i think this episode rocked like most lost episodes.

Richard bitching about John. Dint see that one coming. Now hes on my radar of suspicion.

Finale is going to be absolutely superb.

These are my predictions: (And i hope they are wrong
- The writers might kill Kate.
- With Richard on his side(kind off) Ben might take another shot at john.
- No matter what jack and co do the hatch will be built. How else would they explain so many hatch related mysteries.
- Sawyer is gonna beat Phil to death. And i also think its gonna be sawyer who ultimately kicks Radsinsky's ass and locks him in the hatch before writing quarantine on the door.

WHat do you guys have to say on my assumptions?
