Ben killing lock I never see that coming at all. It was a great episode. It kind answered some questions i had. Still confused as hell, but in a great way.

at the beginning i thought that ceasar was sneaking around in hawking's office at the church... it looked sort of familiar.
and did you see ben's reaction when locke said "eloise hawking"? thats when he decided to kill him. crazy awesome

That was interesting to say the least. I think it is cool that they have found the stations right away with this group. I didn't think Ben and Locke would be with each other right away after what happened. We know now who was in the boat/raft/think with the airplane bottle, but the new question is are they all in the same time and by the look of next weeks episode it would seem to be so. Also, great use of the other island. Didn't think we would ever see that again.

My theory on why Locke is alive again is that I didn't think he was going to kill himself. Somehow the island wouldn't let him. Hawkings said that there is sort of a course correction thing so I am guessing the island "let" Ben kill John knowing it could course correct that scenario and make it right.

Good episode, going to watch it again. Did anyone notice the writing on the bench while John was talking to Hurley? I don't know if it was anything but if anyone else saw it and has an idea please post.

But if Ben is a bad guy... does that make Widmore a good guy? And who is the war going to be between? Where is Sayid? We saw Jack Hurley and Kate last episode, we saw Ben and Locke this episode and they said the captain and a women (I assume Sun) took a boat to the other island... but where is Sayid?

um so do we know how locke found out about Hawking, did i miss something? or is that a mystery?

I think Christian Sheppard told Lock about Eloise Hawkins. What i don't get is why Ben killed him as soon as he mentioned the name of Eloise????

Wow...so much floating around in my head, it's hard to describe. Very good episode, though! It was definitely my favorite one so far this season. It filled in a lot of missing blanks, but definitely created some new ones, as well.

I totally didn't see Ben killing Locke coming. Definitely a shock! Though with ten minutes left in the episode, I was wondering how he would die after Ben convinced him to get down from the table. Maybe some answers to Mr.Linus' murder motives, but I'm not too hopeful at this point.

On a side note, Charles Widmore is looking like a better guy every minute.

Once again another great episode of LOST, and im sure like most i have been waiting for this eppisode since the season 4 finale so i was excited to see Locke’s final days as Jeremy Bentham.

Good to see the question answered that the plane did crash with survivors and it appears all of the O6 just dissapeared. Good thing for them the Others abandoned the Hydra so at least they have some shelter unlike the original Losties haha. But with Cesar taking that shotgun and not telling Llana (sp) about it i am thinking more and more he is a Widmore agent. BTW where the hell did Frank and some wonem go with the boat? Were they the ones shooting at Sawyer and Co. in The Little Prince? And lastly im also wondering is Locke truly resurected or is he like CS?

It seems Tunisia is the only exit point from the Island after pushing the FDW. I wonder how Ben convinced Widmore who at the time was the leader of the Others to be exiled? And also what time period did this happen? I’m assuming after the purge maybe around 1993 or 1994. Who are the 2 sides of the war Widmore spoke of? The obvious answer is Ben and Widmore but could there be a different team or a higher up person than one of them (Ben)?

When Locke visited Walt i think the dreams he said he was having are gonna be future events we will see on the Island between Locke and the Ajira survivors, or perhaps it was just the beggining of the episode when he couldnt give them answers to his questions.

When Locke is about to hang himself they make a note of showing is casted foot for like the 3rd or 4th time, and i personally think this means something, as much as i dont wanna admit it i think Locke may be the 4 toed statue. I am not exactly sure how yet but why else would they make sure we saw his foot more than a few times throughout the episode, unless its to throw us off haha.

Lastly i cant really wrap my mind around why Ben convinced Locke not to kill himself only to strangle him shortly after. Was mentioning Eloise Hawking that big of a deal? And i also wonder if Ben truly knew her before Locke even told him her name....hmmm maybe thats why Ben kept him alive, to find out how to get back to the Island? And now i cant wait to see what the Ben Locke reuniun will be like, i cant wait to see the look on Bens face. Btw why werent Locke and Ben transported with the O6? Any thoughts?

i didn't buy widmore's story. i think he was doing exactly what ben said to locke...widmore was using him. i think that ben talked locke out of killing himself to get some answers. for instance...on how to get back. richard told locke to find eloise hawking when he got the 6 together. eloise knows the way back. as soon as ben found that out, he finished what locke started and killed him KNOWING well that once locke was back on the island, he'd be resurrected. i'm not going to try and say that ben linus is a good person - we all know he is a killer - but i believe that he may mean some good. i believe before ben dies, he will do something great. i could be wrong.

awesome! I loved that episode. The story of Widmore was like omg! I mean now we know why Ben and him are enemies. Now I think that Widmore is the good guy and Ben the bad one. Anyways, it's always changing, so only time will tell the truth. I think the war is between these two men. Or maybe with the Dharma, who knows...

also...the name abaddon means evil. place of destruction, "the destroyer"...matthew abaddon was more than likely not a good person. i can't remember exactly...but didn't widmore say he wasn't going to let locke die? and didn't richard say the only way to get the 6 back was for locke to die? and didn't eloise make it clear that locke was a substitue for christian's dead body?

widmore is a liar. i look at the paintings in his office and i see the word "namaste". i'm thinking...he betrayed richard?...young widdy did have an attitude problem...

Something i just thought about who else do we know had dreams about the Island?? Ben and Locke both leaders of the Others, do you guys think there is a connection there? Im not sure if Walt is a potential leader of the Others but possibly a leader of the Island? idk just a thought.

Awesome Episode.

Walt's dreams can expalain some mysteries about Walt in past seasons considering how he told Locke in season 1: "Don't open it." He probably has these dreams randomly or these dreams are only about Locke's future considering Walt also helped Locke in Season 3 out of the dharma pit.

The magazine with the hydrogen bomb picture is either a teaser of what is to come in the season or the DI/The Others knew about the hydrogen bomb on the island.

Ceaser/Llana are very mysterious. If they were working for Widmore, they would have recognized Ben in the injured bed. I think they have some history with the Dharma Initiative or they are working for Eloise Faraday. It's too early to create theories about these guys for me though.

Ben killing Locke was very surprising but I had a feeling Ben had something to do with Locke's death. After Locke mentions Jin being alive and Eloise Faraday, Ben kills Locke. I think the reason he did this was because he realized at that moment that he could become leader of the island and kills Locke. Ben tried to kill Locke in season 3 in the dharma pit, but this time he succeeds. The time loop surrounding this issue goes back to Richard knowing that Locke was going to be in the jungle after being shot by Ethan. If Richard knew about Locke in the jungle, Locke must of told him that he was going to die, but Locke knows that he can't change the past and if he did he would risk not bringing back the o6, so he just tells Richard that he's going to die, not be murdered by ben.

Ultimately, I think Widmore and Ben are evil..and that throughout the rest of the series they will try to confuse us with who is good or bad..but in the end locke will be the true leader of the island.

I thought it was pretty cool how they tied in Jesus with Locke again how Llana was saying there was a man "standing in water" who was not on the plane.

I totally agree with you nickpeircem! Widmore is totally lying and there was a reason he was "voted" off the island! He clearly was not being very loyal to the command of Richard back when he was 17 on the island so he doesn't seem like the person who Richard wants to lead. I'm a total Ben guy, I will join Ben to the very end!

This episode was great.....I have no big questions.....I believe Cesar is a widmore agent....and I loved how the plan landed on the Hyrda....the one with a runway right?

I totally thought and was hoping Locke had four toes...but the pinky toe is there I counted....

The Man Standing in Water was Locke....which is why they went up to him in the beginning.


I do still wonder what Ben took out of the vent in the pilot episode....

Naw i saw 5 toes on Locke, but I think the writers were tyring to lead us hardcore losties on believing it's him, but i don't think it will be locke.

For Ceasar/Llana...just got a new theory on them...i think the video shown at comic con..the one with marvin candle and daniel faraday urging whoever watches this to reconstitute the dharma initiative...i think Ceasar/Llana saw this and were sent to the island by someone to bring the DI back. Thats why he was all interested in the hydra station guide.

remember in season 4 how mr. friendly told michael that the island wouldn't let him commit suicide? well, maybe the same applies to locke and the oceanic 6. and maybe ben knew that?

i think ben killed locke because someone had to do it. not because he is evil. yes, he did wait until he got the information on how to get back...but still. locke had to die to be the new christian on 316. if he couldn't kill himself...shazam.

maybe i'm holding on too tightly to the idea that ben isn't so bad. i mean...the guy has to have reasons for doing all these things.

I'm still trying to decide if Locke was actually resurected, or Jacob's soul/spirt/essence has taken over his body. The fact that he knew he'd been murdered by Ben was creepy. I'd note also that as in Season 1, when he woke up on the island, his legs were fully healed.
From what I could tell, the plane was sitting there fully intact, so presumably most of the people on board survived. Good to have a new group of red shirts to kill off.

I feel like this episode could have gone into two episodes, i mean it just seemed to go too fast. The meet with Walt I thought could have gone further, you think Walt would have more questions, and I personally think Walt should go back to the island to find his long lost father and so we can begin to understand more about his powers.

Also Locke never told Jack that if he didn't go back then the others will die too.

I had my suspicions from the start about Ben killing Locke, guess i was right, but He did it because he had to die. Other wise Jack would not of been convinced enough to go back.

I wounder how walt will take michael being died?

I am totally with you Nickpircem: Widmore is a liar. My thought is if Richard knew that Locke had to die to make the others come back then I am more apt to believe Ben killing him was for the good of everyone. If this is so then we can look at Widmore saying he won't let Locke die as him knowing if Locke dies he will become the leader therefore Widmore won't let him die to keep him from becoming the leader and to keep the o6 from returning. Thanks to Ben Widmore failed yet again. Also Boom I like your theory on Ceasar and Llana!!

ok so remember the rocks sawyer and kate were hauling in season 3.... i think all those rocks were the runway that allowed this new plane that crashed a safe landing point?? anyone?

It's a good point that Ben HAD to kill Locke because the island wouldn't let him die, but remember when Michael wasn't allowed to die no one else could kill him either. When Keamy tried to shoot Michael for being a traitor, his gun didn't work. So I think if Locke wasn't allowed to die, Ben wouldn't have been able to strangle him to death.

And I think it's key that the island didn't flash Ben to the island along with the other O6, that he was one of the injured. Not sure the significance yet, but it's basically the island telling Ben he's not welcome.

And just a thought... Is Christian really alive because the island is like 3 years behind... ? This whole time travel thing hurts my brain sometimes.

Hiya guys, this my first comment. Awesome episode, as usual. I noticed something toward the begining when Abaddon was driving Locke to the airport. He stops to let those guys cross with the sheep from the side of the road with the airport sign on. When the car moves off again the guys are still on the same side of the road, but it looks like they crossed. It may sound like a continuity error but i really dont think it was, i think it was deliberate. Its like the writers made a point of showing us. They even put a point of reference in (the airport sign) so it cant be argued that the guys did cross and we just got muddled up.

I know it seems daft but there have been other small things aswell, like when Miles went ghostbusting in S4 and the picture frames on the wall changed. Another one i noticed aswell is when we first see Eloise Hawking in the church with Ben. He lights the stick on the candle, turns and sees Hawking, then blows out the candle. The camera cuts to a different angle and we see Ben do the exact same thing again. It just looks like bad editing but i dont see a show so into detail missing a thing like that.

Nearly finished lol. The show had basically said whatever has happend, happend and cannot be changed. I'm thinking this is either rubbish or the one person we know about who is different (Desmond) is changing things somehow.

Sorry for the long post and rambling on about the small stuff, i just can't see a show so particular about details making fairly big continuity errors like this. I'm sure there are others ive missed aswell. Thanks for reading anyway, hope it all makes as much sense as it did in my head, lol.

- Lapidus and a woman got in a boat and left quickly... why? and are they the ones who shot Juliet and the rest?
- Ceasar founds a map (the one to the Temple...)
- The Hydro bomb magazine...
- The runway kate and sawyer were forced to help made is the one used by the plane
- Why the name Eloise Hawkings was the key word for Ben to kill Locke? Maybe he only wanted to know who knew how to get to the island.
-Why Ben takes good care of Locke's body (in coffin)? its like he needed to kill him and then bring him dead.
- A War is coming... between who?
- So Kate, Jack and Hurley time traveled and the plane didnt? but Sayid and Sun where are they?
-Walt vision of "people around Locke wants to hurt him" sounds scary.

I kinda wishes for a little more on the encounters with the O6 and Locke... but its was ok. i still think 316 was better then last night episode

oh my god, i totally don't know what to believe anymore.. so many twits, so many lies... and i felt really sorry for locke. he always trusts in persons, always sacrifices himself for the island, always seems to fail.. oh man.

random stuff i picked up on:
its possible that ben and widmore are equally "evil"; they both want to use the island for their own benefit. they constantly lie and manipulate locke because he is the one the island truly needs.

on that note: a few episodes ago, christian tells locke that he was the one who was supposed to turn the wheel the first time. When i first saw that, i assumed that Ben had gone against the islands wishes. but i realized how little we know about the christian-jacob-island relationship. with all the lies in lost, its not beyond belief that christian is manipulating john too.

faraday probably ran away with sun; shes the only main character that we know is on island that is unaccounted for. but the boat that chased locke and sawyer and juliet in "the little prince" appeared ot havemore people on it. i think that that occurs in the future and the ajira survivors attack them. the losties become the "others"

@ Welshlad, i have notices simular 'Continuity Errors' as you, some of my thoughts as follows: (1)When Hurley is in Santa Rosa he is led away by two orderlies,they instantly switch places between shots.WTF? (2)when locke is being driven to airport by Abaddon a passing truck is the same one that rescues him from the jungle.

I thought it was perfect. Few things I don't get but I'm sure they'll be explained.

Also, who else thought Locke was exceptional in this episode? I really think if I had chance to meet anyone from the cast, it would be Terry O-Quinn. I would love to tell him how talented I think he is. All through that episode I was just like "oh my god, his life is so terrible... oh I just feel so sad... Poor guy, and now helen's dead too!" my boyfriend was like, "its not real!" Haha.

@ Kitty505, i didnt notice those two, ill have to go back and have a look at those lol. im pretty sure some of them will be continuity errors, i mean noones perfect but some of them are way too bigto be that. Glad i'm not the only one though lol
