1. Emily Nussbaum (New York Magazine):
WTF?
There’s little more to say, except that this was a satisfying episode all around: intra-Dharmite color, sparkly dialogue (”maybe I should have used half a dropper?”), psychedelic torture, only a dash of Kate, plus the most insane ending since they jumped off the island. By now, Sayid has gone through so many guilt/harm loops he’s practically a pretzel, but there was something genuinely awful/wonderful about the climactic act — a killing Sayid intended as redemption, but that may have all sorts of gruesome repercussions.
2. Alan Sepinwall:
“He’s Our You” was, in many ways, our first old-school “Lost” episode of the season. Where most other episodes have either featured lots of time travel, or two distinct storylines involving characters on the island versus those in the real world, this reverts to the original model of a story on the island where one character’s struggle (in this case, Sayid’s) is illuminated by flashbacks from their life on the mainland.
Of course, the show and its characters have been through enough changes that we could get a relatively traditional episode where the flashbacks all take place after the crash of Oceanic 815, while the “present-day” scenes are in 1977, but this was structured similarly to a first season episode, down to the potentially stunning moment at the end, when Sayid calmly put a bullet in the chest of 12-year-old Ben Linus and staggered off through the jungle.

Previously, on Lost: Little Harry Potter, I mean Ben Linus, runs into Richard “The Timeless Wonder” Alpert looking a bit disheveled in the jungle of mystery, back in 1974. Ben wants to join the Hostiles. Richard tells him that he must be patient before he can join. Yeah, you’re probably going to have to wait about 18 years or so. Back in 2007, grown-up Ben has been manipulating Sayid into killing a whole bunch of people, before they join Jack, Kate, and Hurley on Ajira Flight 316. Destination? 1977. Back in the ’70s, Jin finds Sayid wandering around near the Flame and has no choice but to take him captive. Later, in the Dharma brig, young Ben brings Sayid a sandwich, and they meet again for the first time.
This week on Lost: When I said all hell was going to break loose this week, I had no idea what might happen, nor did I think I’d have to wait until the last 30 seconds of the episode to find out exactly how prophetic that statement would become. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover after the episode, so this recap is going to be fast and frenetic. Let’s do it!

In this week’s official LOST audio podcast, Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse prehash “Whatever Happened, Happened”, apologise to Rebeca Madder and announce their selections for the S5 finale twist codename.

TVbythenumbers.com reports:
The 9pm hour had a lot of viewing between Idol, Criminal Minds (14 million and a 3.4 adults 18-49 rating) and Lost. Lost dipped below 9 million (4.0 adults 18-49 rating) and posted another series low, but it’s nothing to worry about since it will have no impact on its renewal prospects for next year.
