Here’s some info about this year’s tournament taking place on the LOST 3D Online Island:

1. The tournament will run until the last episode of Season 5.
2. This is an individual competition. No teams. You must IM Felicity Burt or Seastories Supermarine to be entered into the tournament by the 30th Jan.
3. The winner of the tournament will be the person with the most points at the end of season 5.
4. Each week there will be a Quiz/Trivia with the questions being from the latest episode shown. Each question you get right will give you 10 points. The quiz will be held on a Sunday before the discussion ,but because of the avatar limit on the Island, get there early. Unfortunately, the avatar limit is beyond our control.
5. The armory door of the Swan Station will be locked once a week and whoever can unlock the door by guessing the right code will win 42 points. When you have guessed the code you need to send an IM to Felicity Burt with what the code is and the time you guessed it.
6. Scavenger hunt: Each week there will be an item hidden on the Island. The item will be something to do with the latest episode. We will announce at the beginning of each week what the item is. When you find it IM Seastories Supermarine with where you found the item and what time you found it. You will receive 42 points for finding it.
7. If you have any question please IM Felicity Burt.

It has been one full week since the LOST 3D Online opened and it has been amazing!  The group now has well over 1050 members and most have been extremely impressed will all they have seen.  It has been exciting meeting new people from all over the world, talking to them about LOST and helping them find their way around the Island. We are hoping to add a small orientation area in the next couple weeks to enable new members to learn some helpful tips on there own.  We are also planning on having more discussions both LOST related and some GREET, MEET and TEACH ones to get to know our new members.  We will keep you posted!! Finally! After a couple of months of hard work, the island is finally open. Go to the LOST 3D Online Island section to learn how to register and download the software. You will find a direct link to the island there too, aswell as many photos, videos and other useful information.

Here are some of the features of the island:

• 65000 m2 extension. Lots of locations from the show: survivors camp, Dharma underground stations (Swan station, Orchid station, Pearl station and more), Jacob’s cabin, a deep jungle, the Dharma dock, the Sydney Airport, and many more, including some secret places you will have to find.

• Multiplayer. You won’t be alone on the island, hundreds of fans will be there (there are already more than 800 fans registered).

• There is a counter on the swan station that works in real time, the numbers must be entered every 108 or bad things happen to those inside the Swan if the button isn’t pushed.

• LIVE discussions of LOST episodes. There will be discussions every week to talk about new episodes, and there will be special discussions during the hiatus. There is a huge TV where videos will be displayed.

• There’s no cost for using the software.

Liking what he found he decided to film a impromtu group meeting using several of his friends in Second Life. Luckily one of SL-LOST’s staff members Samantha Kuncoro was there to send out a group IM to actual SL-LOST members so they could be part of this exciting event.

Together Draxter and Samantha were able to teleport enough people into the meeting room that it was packed full.  Several of the friends Draxter teleported had never been to our island nor had heard about the group. They were very impressed and excited and several became new members.

We are told that this short film should be ready to be viewed in October and DVD’s will be avalible.

He also told us that he was lucky enough to meet Jorge Garcia by chance at an Apple II store in Hawaii!

Yesterday was a busy day for the members of SL-LOST!  This week there was the quiz round, a discussion about the new episode and the opening of The Pearl Station.  Excitement was in the air!!!

We had another great turn out for the quiz round and had 10 questions about last week’s episode “The Shape of Things to come”.  Both teams did a great job and several members from each team would try to get their answer in and more then once the points went to whoever could type the fastest.  The light team took the lead and won the additional 108 points this week.

After the discussion about this week’s episode, we opened the new Pearl Station!! It was great being all crowded in with about twenty other SL-LOST members in a station meant for two, but Paul and Dario did a fantastic job on this and we greatly appreciate their hard work!!!! If you haven’t come to check it out, hurry!!!

Could it be possible that we may soon be able to purchase a whole island to ourselves?

We have just read in an article on the Second Life Blog that they are lowering the purchase price of an island considerably from $1675 to $1000. The monthly fees however would remain the same.

This is great news for us! With the number of members we have, coming up with the money to buy an island when these prices come into effect should be easy, well that is if everyone was willing and able to pitch in. 

With this lower price the future of having a new LOST Virtual Island is closer at reach.

“Light together, die alone!”

Yesterday’s quiz round was exciting! The questions focused on episodes 1-6 of season four. The Dark team took the lead at the start of the quiz round but the Light team quickly caught up. The teams were neck and neck until the end when the Lighties prevailed earning an extra 42 points from answering a bonus question, which led to them winning the additional 108 points for winning the round.

Final scoring:

· Light Team: 237

· Dark Team: 66

This week we had more members from each team trying to answer, unlike the previous rounds when one or two members of each team dominated the game.

If you haven’t joined a team and you want to prove your knowledge of LOST then IM Campetin Hoorenbeek to join the Dark team or Samantha Kuncoro to join the Light team!!!

It seems we just started watching new episodes of LOST and now we have to wait until April 24 to see a new one, whoa the poor life of a LOST fan.

This week’s episode answered a few questions and as always put more in its place.

Let’s review some of what we learned.

Walt is now living with grandma and he is disappointed in his father, Michael is miserable and the “island won’t let him die”, the rumors about Mr. Friendly’s sexual preference were put to rest, and Widmore does have a huge role with this island. What do we still need to find out?

Well, where to begin??

I thought the story line was good; we were able to finally see what happened to Michael once he left the island. It was also really great to see two of the characters Libby and Tom that had been killed in previous episodes. I loved seeing John’s group all seated in the living room like it was some family gathering, their reactions to having Ben among them was priceless. Finally we see that Miles was able to get that grenade out of his mouth, I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see how, maybe in a future episode.

As for the whole Alex, Karl and Danielle storyline, well, half of me was glad to see that they were part of the story again, but the other half of me thought it felt as if the writers are trying to find away to tie up lose end rather quickly and I don’t like any series that does that.

Over all I was expecting a much bigger mid season finale but I was relieved that it was not one of the main characters that were killed, I am not saying that I am glad Danielle and Karl are possibly dead, I was just thinking that this episode would leave me dying of anticipation until it returns in April.

As I am sure all of you have your theories as to what will happen next and I have mine, I know we all hope to get our answers soon, but not too soon.
