Why are they so confident that young Ben is dead for? We thought Libby was dead at the end of “Two For the Road” but she wasn’t. Plus the ideas of Desmond having to time travel and stop Sayid from shooting young Ben is just ridiculous.

Sayid didn’t want to join the DI probably because he knows some dirt about it that we don’t and he doesn’t want to be involved, or he doesn’t want to die in the purge

i think ben will be taken by hostiles, and be healed by them/come back to life/be a ghost, one of those it doesnt matter as long as the hostiles did it and it shows their skills
explains why richard is eternal, hes a ghost
