The best episode so far. i think when John moved the well again the time travel stoped because before the well was skipping and now i think it’s back on track.
February 11th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
and once again Ben has proven himself to be the best character in this show
February 11th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
my favorite is still jughead but this was really good. next episode should be even better since damon and carlton wrote it.
also if the well isnt skipping anymore and time is back to normal, where is sawyers group in time?
also…….CHARLOTTE DIED!!! SO SAD!!!
February 11th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
although i guess no one is really “dead” on the show……cept nicki and paolo. they better be hella dead lol
February 11th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
daniel has to go back in time and tell young charlette not to come back or she will die so thats why i think there still might be more time skipping probably not tho and annie has to be her mom
February 11th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Charlottes last words about chocolate… definitely have a deeper meaning, ay?
February 11th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Im sure Sawyer will be in the 70s because they havent explored the Dharma Initiative yet and its their chance
THIS WAS THE BEST YET, But Im sure the one where they get back will be AWESOMER
February 11th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
orr there in the time of when the dharma was there that makes more senesce and young charlette will be there and we will see annie all grown up that would be cool

I didn’t like this one as much. I’m concerned about them going back without Sayid, Hurley, and Kate/Aaron (although I think the sneak peak to next week showed her changing her mind (as usual…)).
February 11th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
I think that Hurley may have changed his mind too…Hurley in my opinion as always wanted to go back, just didn’t tell Sayid that. And I think that because Hurley wants to go back Sayid might change his mind. I’m just really glad Penny wasn’t with Desmond, or else Ben might have killed her on the spot. Good episode, but I’m definitely going to watch it again to let it all sink again.

Best Episode yet
February 11th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
wow, best episode ever. this episode actually answered one of my biggest theories, locke was supposed to move the island, not ben. i also figured the wheel wasn’t pushed all the way, causing the island to skip. Heres my theory on the skipping. I think Ben didnt push it all the way, and this caused it to be unstable. it was rocking back and forth, as we just saw, and every time it hit a certain point, the island moved, but it didnt lock and the wheel continued to rock back and forth. the island is supposed to be moved only as a last resort, and i think its time traveling abilities were being pushed into overdrive, which caused the shifts to become more violent. i think that explanation fits pretty well. i also noticed that we got a major answer as to how the orchid was found and how dharma built around it. Some time in the future, the hostiles/others will find the rope just lying in the ground as sawyer left, so they built a hole to find out what was at the bottom. they then built the well for easier access to it. then, dharma researchers found it, and they built the station around it. now, as for charlotte, i think i figured that one out to. She woke up from her first faint and repeated something from memory. i dont think she is talking to jin or refering to sun at all. when she talked to dan later on, she said she had a “memory”, mirroring what desmond said to penny when he woke up in “The Lie.” so i think in the past, dan (during his time in the Dharma Initiative) found charlotte’s mom and told her to leave the island and never bring charlotte back because she would die. meanwhile, little charlotte witnessed this. at that point our “present” charlotte woke up with that memory fresh in her mind. so, i think dan broke the rules again by talking to charlotte’s mom as he did with desmond in the season premiere. so, she just had a new memory from her past, rather than flashing in the future and finding out that sun cant come back. lastly, i think Christian couldnt help lock up because he is merely a ghost, and has no true physical being or matter, and he doesnt want john to know. thats all ive got but i also think it fits pretty good. i really cant wait for the next episode, because im more of an O6 guy than a mythology guy, and i really want to see how the six get back. couple of new questions: was the rocking wheel causing the shifts? why did ben see locke and not the other way around? how does hawking know how to get back and is she really dan’s mom? is this the last of charlotte? how does dan find charlotte’s mom in the past? was the temple the smoke monster was guarding the same temple the others retreated to in the season 3 finale? what will happen when locke visit ms hawking? how will he get back? how did christian get to the past and how did he get to the wheel? why was the wheel shining green? wow, thats actually a lot of questions, but i think they will all be explained in the later episodes of the season. cant wait till next week yo!
February 11th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Loved this episode: I think the most mysterious part was with smokey and rousseaus team and the temple. That temple could be where the others were at but i think the black rock and the place ben showed on the map are different areas. The Black rock and this temple are very close.
The most surprising part of this episode was when christian told locke that he was supposed to move the wheel, not Ben. I really dont know wtf Ben is doing now. Did he move the island so he couldnt be killed by the island..or was it the ONLY way for him to get off the island and kill Widmore’s daughter? He must have known he wasnt supposed to move it and maybe thats why he can never go back to the island. He broke a rule and now if he returns he will be killed.
I have a feeling that Daniel is indeed Charlottes Dad. He sent Desmond to his mom so he could try to change Charlottes death which he knew was coming. Charlottes mom, I think, may be daniels experiment…Theresa, the girl we saw in the bed. Or it could be Anne. Those are the only two choices i would guess.
I don’t understand why Sawyer is getting the nose bleeds but Dan and Locke aren’t. Maybe Sawyer has somehow been on the island before.
OH ya, the funniest part of this show was when Jin was speaking Korean intended to Charlotte and Sawyer looks at Miles and goes, translate, then Miles says hes not korean…i think he says phillipines. I dont remember if they gave out any info about marvin candles background on some arg but if anyone knows if hes from the phillipines that would most likely mean its miles dad.
So..another huge theory which may be a little out of the ordinary…is that Jacob is a ghost like Christian and…maybe Clair. Christian couldnt help him up because he’s a ghost and the reason why Jacob has been telling people what to do is because he is a ghost like Christian. If Jacob was alive and healthy, you would think he would so something like stop the wheel or move the island instead of ordering other people around.
February 11th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
well if christian couldnt help locke up because he has no physical form, then how do you explain him holding aaron in jacob’s cabin?
maybe the line around the cabin provides the ghosts with some ammount of physicality?
February 11th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
good point captain…since alot of people think aaron is jacob..i think that aarons special power..given that he was born on the island..is that he can maybe somehow communicate/touch with the dead people on the island. So if aaron is jacob that is how he is able to communicate with jacob and half-dead claire. Wow, this theory makes sense because if miles was born on the island…thats how he got his special powers to communicate with the dead…just like Jacob!!!! Ah…i think its aaron!!
February 11th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
whoops i meant christian..not jacob in the second sentence.
February 11th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
However…Hurley can also talk to dead people off the island and he has also seen Jacob…just like Ben and Locke…but those three are the only ones who have seen him/communicated with him. I have a pretty crazy theory about that but it has to do with hurley’s numbers and ben/locke being the chosen leaders.
February 11th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
First of all i wanna say i LOVED this episode best one of this young season so far in my opinion. And was it just me or has Jins english vastly improved from last season haha.
I think Smokie’s hole was at the Temple which appears to be REALLY old. I wanna know what happened to Robert and co. when they went down there. It seems Danielle wasnt crazy Robert seemed “changed”, but during their standoff he said “its not a monster…its a security system guarding the Temple” now how could he have known that??
Charlotte said she thinks Danial was the crazy, scary man who told her never to come back to the Island or she’ll die…How? will we see that during one of the flashes? Is that how he will also preumably end up filing Dr. Chang in the comic con video? I have a theory on her parents that i think makes perfect sense they are the Goodspeeds. She said she left the Island with her mom and never saw her dad again possibly cuz he ied in the Purge, i mean we never saw Olivia die in the purge, and it sounds like a good reason to say it doesnt exist. Lastly i was sad to see Charlotte die
When CS told John he needed to get all of his friends back to the Island i think he literally meant EVERYONE i.e. Walt, Desmond, and even Frank. And he said John was supposed to move the Island not Ben so why did Ben do it since he is now trying desperatly to get back? I will admit i was wrong Ms. Hawking IS Faradays mom ah well haha.
Btw Best line of the show “Tell my son i said hi”–CS
February 11th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
I knew Ben couldn’t be trusted!..Christian couldn’t have said it any better!! The episodes just keep getting better and better. I didn’t expect Desmond to show up and I bet Ben didn’t either, but I am glad he did.
If it was John that was suppose to move the island, then it throws off the whole loop. Things wouldn’t be the way they are…I wonder if we will see what “happened” if John turned the wheel instead of Ben….but then that goes against Fardays rule of you can’t change the past…whatever happened..happened..very interesting and potential crucial turning point in the story. John has to clean up Ben’s mess..
February 11th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
Who recorded the numbers? 4-8-15-16-23-42?
We heard them playing at the episode’s start, but who recorded them? I have a theory it was Faraday, back in time.
February 12th, 2009 at 12:02 am
wait a minute we still do not really know who is Jacob..and Loc only has seen christan and ben has only talked of jacob..and hurly has seen anyone dead people who already have names..if any of what i wrote make sence
February 12th, 2009 at 12:27 am
the DI recorded the numbers when they arrived back in the 70′s
February 12th, 2009 at 1:03 am
what a great episode!
February 12th, 2009 at 1:10 am
i was SOOO excited when charlotte started tlkaing about her childhood time on the island!! and i instantly thought that annie was her mom and ben is her dad!! oh snap!! i cried… so sad seeing dan cry
WHOA and now we see that danielle WAS NOT crazy.. and her team did get sick.. i cant believe i saw robert turn on her like that. I CANT WAIT to see more of the temple.
February 12th, 2009 at 1:23 am
Fantastic episode, I’d say on par with “Jughead.” I think one of the most important things to take away from this episode is that if the time-shifts are now over, the island is now pre-Dharma or Dharma equivalent in time (considering that the Orchid isn’t built) and therefore, from now on, everything we see on the island will be leading up to the initial 815 crash. This also means that Daniel would not have to go back in time to warn Charlotte of never coming back as he could just walk over to the Barracks and tell her now (or whenever the Initiative arrives).
I agree with David in that it sounded like Christian literally meant EVERYONE needs to come back, there was just some inclusive tone to his voice.
Do you think Locke could have figured out Jack is Christian’s son and told him that his father spoke to him on the island. Essentially, Locke can deduce the candidates to Jack and Ben right? Maybe that is why Jack is such a firm believer and so willing to go back.
Finally, if Sun does come back, can she/is she going to be able to bring Ji-Yeon? I couldn’t see her going back without the baby. Great episode, actually answered more questions than posed, gotta love it.
February 12th, 2009 at 1:31 am
Okay my thoughts:
Charlotte
1. Best episode of the season. super good
2. I think Charlotte is Ben and Annie’s. Or at least Annie’s. Maybe they left because Ben warned them about what he was going to do to the DI? Except why Ben isn’t looking or doesn’t know about Charlotte I’m not too sure. Just a thought. (I -really- do not agree with the “Dan is Charlotte’s dad” theory. Reason one for disagreeing: he doesn’t say he loves her, he says he’s IN love with her. Reason 2: he was the scary man telling her not to come back. she mentioned her dad and it was pretty clear that she wasn’t the same person as the scary man)
3. Is Ben doing bad things or good things? Is that place death? Or will things be fixed by them going back? -Should- they be thanking him?
4. SUCH a good explanation for why the island was “skipping” (because the wheel was off its axis or moving a bit or whatever)
5. Okay… with Danielle’s group and the sickness I figured at first they had been “brain washed” like… that flight attendant from the tail section. BUT then when Robert went to kill Danielle… I don’t know. I don’t know what to think about that. Why shoot someone who has a baby if babies can’t be born on the island. Or maybe they could be born at that point. There are -a lot- of questions created by that scene.
6. Did they just tell us what the smoke monster is?
7. Why would Dan tell child Charlotte to never come back if he already knows she’s going to?
8. Other points:
-MY GOD Desmond is sooooo damn gorgeous
-
-aww loooved when Sawyer and Jin are reunited. I love Sawyer so much. And… hate to admit it, but Juliet is growing on me a little.
February 12th, 2009 at 1:53 am
i cant seem to remember correctly.. but wasn’t that the music box that Sayid fixed?
February 12th, 2009 at 2:23 am
yea jimmeh it sure was just a bit newer ya the whole 16 years on the island made it look a lil worse when sayid foxed it haha
February 12th, 2009 at 6:36 am
Another great episode from the best show ever,
i have to say after watching the episode last night i really think that locke could really be dead for sure and maybe for the rest of the show, i sure hope he isnt like.
am guessing now the will be stuck in the DI days now, and from that comic con vid, they are sending that video to the O6 at present time for help. because there stuck in time you know ?
February 12th, 2009 at 9:50 am
David, in the season premiere, we see Faraday posing as a DHARMA member.
So couldn’t it be plausible that Faraday recorded the numbers?
February 12th, 2009 at 10:10 am
oh so this is kind of a strech.. but it you listen to the numbers again.. it KIND of sounds like hurleys voice transmitting them..
February 12th, 2009 at 10:15 am
So maybe it is Hurley. I am pretty confident it will be ONE of the characters we know who came from the future
February 12th, 2009 at 10:30 am
YES, thats the music box that Sayid fixed for her, I caught that.
And at this point, I’m pretty sure baby’s are okay to be born on the Island. I think that has a starting point.
Oh gosh, if it’s Hurley, that’s gonna be crazy, but I noticed that it sounded like him.
So…Smokie’s a brainwashing cloud of smoke. wowwww haha. Cool
February 12th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
Does anyone think that John stopped the time skiping by turning the wheel?
I think he hasn’t stop it cuz Dan must travel to the Dharma times to tell Charlottes mom to get out of the island before the purge happens and also tells Charlotte that she must never come bak or she’ll die (which is what happened last night) so in order to stop the time skipping they “all” must go back to the island. the wheel just help locke travel out of the island. and probably its goint to stable the time travel a little bit. but the DI momment with Dan must happen and also they must return to their time… some Time travel hasn’t stop…
Also About what Charlotte’s “Dont let them bring her back” I never thought she was refering to Sun but everyone here it is? I think she is referring to Ji Yeon?
DOnt you guys remmember the scene with Claire and Kate “Dont you DARE bring him back”
Its like for some reason they dont want kids there…
what you guys think?
February 12th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
tidus.
1. i dont think the time flashes have stopped just because john turned the wheel.
he may have fixed its axis, but it seemed to be trying to turn on its own, so maybe he just stabalized the time jumps a little. i think that would tie in with when we saw dan in the orchid. i believe that was a flash-forward of something we’ll see later and learn that it was just another jump.
2.my first thought was that it was ji-yeon too, mostly because it was so similar to how claire said it about aaron (or so we assume)
February 12th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
1. wow, locke is face to face with his destiny to die (without the hope of reincarnation) and he says hes ok with that. he really is a special one, he even dies for the island.
2. christian can’t be a ghost, he carried the lamp which also ben used when he turned the wheel. so that couldn’t be the reason he couldn’t help locke..
3. yea, charlotte really could refer to ji yeon, i think theres a special connection, even because she speaks korean.. hmmm.
4. smokey is connected to the ancient ruins of the island / the temple! i think danielle is true and her friends were already dead but illusions of smokey, why would roger shoot at her?!
5. christian said that locke had to move the island. well sure he did, he knew that ben would mess it up and locke had to fix it. again, the moment locke said “i’m ready (to die for the island)” creeped me…
February 12th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
2 additional thoughts…
poor guy.
first, could it be that charlotte had to say to jin that he should not bring sun back, just so that he gives locke the ring, which in the end convinces her to go with ben??? maybe charlotte knew!
second, i love the scene in the car when ben just freaks out
February 12th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
It was confirmed during The Lost Experience that the radio trasmitter on the island will broadcast the numbers, this is confirmed on the lostpedia page about the velenzetti equation.
February 12th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
David,
someone had to record the numbers in order for them to be broadcast. We know HOW it happens, but WHO records them is the question.
February 12th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
Okay another thought:
For Danielle, Jin appeared and disappeared.
The same thing happened for Jack with Christian.
Is it possible that -that- is time travel? Probably not (how did he get on the freighter or in the hospital?) but is it something we should consider?
February 12th, 2009 at 8:16 pm
I think by Alvar Hanso saying this he knows that the DI and maybe even himself recorded it, i dont see how it could be anyone else i think people are looking into this waaaaay too much. For arguments sake lets say it is Hurly who recorded them for those of you who think that my question is why? and when?
February 12th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
The why, like most other things, we won’t know yet. The when, is in the 1970s…DHARMA time. Lets say the O6 come back and its 1970s and they infiltrate and become DHARMA…then bla bla bla and one of them records the numbers.
February 13th, 2009 at 6:43 am
i have to agree with david.
As a lost fan, i know we sometimes come up with wacked out theories.
but seriously, most of you lost fans are definitely going way & beyond any logical thinking.
Hurley got the numbers from the guy in the mental institute who got them from another guy who heard them from somebody else(most likely on the iteration) .
Now we hear them along with the fact that Rousseaus team “followed” them which ultimately caused the event of their boat crashing/sinking.
Now are you also forgetting that Hurley feels these numbers are “bad luck/cursed”? With hurley being the nice guy he is, why would he spread that burden out on the radio waves?
I think we all need to relax our minds and stop LOOKING for theories and answers and just let the show present itself as it ultimately will. Remember: YOUR WATCHING A SHOW ON TV. YOUR NOT ONE OF THE OCEANIC 6, NOR ARE YOU AN OTHER OR A LEFT BEHINDER.
Do as I do, and take the show one week at a time.
February 13th, 2009 at 7:31 am
yeah, I always wanted to say that, Im apsalutly agreed with you “Lost fans R crazy”…
thanks…
sorry but I have also some theotries, I think that it wasnt Hurley who recorded theese numbers, it might be that man in Sants Rosa, you remember him?…
He always was keep telling Hugo about that.John Locke turned the wheel, but time travel flashes didnt stooped. It was just a way back home, to the Oceanic 6, it was the way to go back and 2 bring them all back.
We will get Danniellas story (thats what told the produsers)…
In this episode Michael Emerson proved that he was the best character in the show agian, and again…
great episode, and I think that it was the beggining of the end of “LOST”…
This was the first real , from now I think it will become, more more and more…(u know)…
Thanks LOST, commin up 316.., YEAH
February 14th, 2009 at 11:43 am
I loved that moment when Ben saw Desmond, because he didnt knew that Desmond had got off the Iseland too…
I cant forget his eyes, oohhh!!!!
February 14th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
lost fans r crazy,
It’s completely rational to think Hurley will have send out the broadcast.
Without reading into it too much, the main evidence is that it does sound like him.
Reading in a bit, how do you expect that story to resolve itself anyway?
Since the key to many things has been shown to be time traveling, this story will most likely also be like that too. Hurley will broadcast it in the past and that will lead to him reading it in the future. The cycle will repeat.
Sounds perfectly plausible to me,, its what everything points to. Many stories are ending up to be like that one. Everything in the show is ironic, so the simplest solution is that the Hurley/numbers story will end in an ironic time traveling thingy
February 14th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
Luved the episode!!!! What happened to rose and bernard and vincent? Are they dead or lost or something? What if they got captured by the smoke monster and are changed too? Hm….
February 14th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
I think the numbers being recorded by Hurley would be incredibly smart and not being read into too much.
Perhaps he records the numbers in the 1970s and his doing so leads to someone hearing the recording and telling them to Leonard who in turn goes crazy from them and tells Hurley about them and then Hurley comes to the island and goes back in time and records them and endless cycle. Starts and ends with Hurley. So he actually cursed himself.
And I dont think Ben looked so shocked because he didn’t know Desmond got off the island.
Desmond says “Are you here to find Faraday’s mother too?”
I think it was to that question that Ben was shocked. He had NO idea that Eloise was Daniel’s mum.
February 15th, 2009 at 3:58 pm
Ok, than why or why Benjamin Linus is working with Faradays mam, when in season4 Episode2, if you remember, Ben told John and everybody that they came after him, they came to GET BENJAMIN LINUS,,,
Than why is he working with mrs.Hawking, hn?
February 16th, 2009 at 12:05 pm
I am sorry I dont understand what you are asking. =P
February 16th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
because ben and Ms. Hawking are on the same side, and Dan and Ben were on opposing teams back then [i think that answers that]
February 17th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
NO DAN CAME FROM WIDMORES BOAT… HOW CAN IT BE “were on opposing teams”?
May 27th, 2010 at 6:37 am
