i dont think so. How would the initiative know EXACTLY where the bomb was buried? Why take the chance to dig around its area and possibly cause it to explode? Not to mention the fact that the year is 1954 and the D.A didnt start until the 70′s. It wouldnt make sense to leave it above ground for so long with the threat of the leak and its possible explosion. I just dont believe that it would be specifically buried under the swan when it could have just been sealed with lead or concrete and then buried anywhere. Why carry it through the jungle to the location of the future swan station? In all the dharma stations there is concrete & (im sure) lead as well. Why does everybody believe its exactly under the swan?

The place where the swan station was built was above a magnetic force. Even though the Dharma initiative came in the 70′s who knows what the hostiles had done to the special properties of the island. We saw the wheel below the orchid in the 70′s so we know someone built a man made wheel before the dharma initiative. For the swan station, this could be the same instance. The hostiles maybe had something built before the swan station, maybe with concrete and lead, and this is why they would put the bomb here above the magnetic force. Then the DI comes along and finds the bomb and one day some idiot accidentally triggers it or along those lines which causes the incident which marvin candle mentioned in the dharma video. Sort of like the construction guys in the orchid, they noticed something below ground but were given strict orders to not go deeper. Well, I’m thinking that one of the DI guys in the swan station is gonna ignore orders or something and cause the incident which thus makes someone use the numbers every 108 mins to stop the bomb. Maybe the Dharma initiave tried to harness the magnetic force above that spot to somehow make the bomb go inert.

In the Season 2 Finale, when Mr. Eko threatens to detonate the dynamite behind the Swan blast door, Desmond says that “they’ll resist an atom bomb”. So yes.

these types of bombs cant be blown up from another explosion there built for that exact reason u need to remotely detonate it and the bomb is suspended in the air because that how they tested bombs if the bomb where to drop it wouldnt explode

i think it could defiantly be down in the swan station but i guess time will tell, and a good point you made there, Casey

i really cant imagine the bomb would be buried under the swan station. i mean, first off, they moved the bomb to bury it, they wouldnt move it deep into the jungle where they would run the risk of hitting it on a tree or dropping it, it would probably be buried in the big open area they set up camp. now desmond may have said the doors can resist an atom bomb, but i highly doubt he was reffering to this hydrogen bomb as if he had heard something about it. finally, the incident candle mentions will probably be some sort of electro magnetic pulse, if someone set off a hydrogen bomb underground on the island, there would be very little island left, let alone trees, natives, animals etc. i mean, i know the island has special properties, but come on. i know that the series has been structured in a means that some many pins were set up early to be knocked down in later seasons for those ‘WHAT!?’ moments, but if this were one, it would be really weak. not like the ‘put down your gun whidmore’ moment. LORD.

I think the jughead is not relative to the swan station. because the jughead most be buried in back 50. but dharma has been made between 1970-1980. so at 1954, there was no Dharma Initiative to build the swan station up the “jughead”, the hydrogen bomb.

i hate this question and everyone that thinks the answer is yes! NO, NO, NO the bomb is not under the swan station. Whats behind that concrete wall is “The incident Room.” This is all revealed during Lost: Via Domos, the game on xbox360. this is where the “incident” happened that called for the numbers to be plugged in every 108 minutes, as explained by the orientation video. THE SWAN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JUGHEAD!!!
besides this is an H-Bomb were talking about, an H-BOMB!!!!! hellllloooo world war 2? atomic testing in the pacific? That bomb wouldn’t just mess up a room in a Dharma hatch…..it would blow up the whole f*cking island!!!!!!
wanna know what happened to the bomb?!?!?!?! nothing!!!!!! it was probably burried at sea, or put rendered inert, but it definitly did not go off!

Awesome zinger. How about doing a little research. Lostpedia.com, the incident room.
Wow I really do have way too much time on my hands.
I’m looking into a black light dharma tattoo also.

Does anyone remember the electromagnetic force behind the concrete wall in the swan,Bombs are not electromagnetic not to mention the fact that you wouldn’t go burying a bomb next to something which could cause an explosion now would you,you would bury it as faraway from something as dangerous as an electromagnetic build up as you could get but you guys not very good on the science part
March 31st, 2009 at 4:40 am
Not that this is science just common sense, and the whole thing that a bomb cannot be set off by another explosion true to an extent but i highly doubt anyone would take the risk of that especially back in the hydrogen bombs infancy, they were not made with the fail safes they are today and at least you would expect contamination, not a smart move
