UPDATE: As suggested by our readers, if we play the audio in a loop we can hear John say: “When am I ?”. Below is the new audio file:
ORIGINAL POST: On the new promo there is a voice played backwards. I reversed the audio, and got this:
I’m pretty sure it’s Locke, but I have no clue what he’s saying.

He says “Am I? When?” maybe someone tells him he died
Example
Jack: I saw your body in a casket… you’re dead
Locke: Am I? When?
December 19th, 2008 at 9:20 am
i think it’s either HE MIGHT WIN or AM I? WHEN?
the reason I don’t think it’s AM I? WHEN? is because the first word is with an “H”. But I don’t know. OMG

Its sounds like “Am I when?”. Maybe Locke is time travelling, a la Desmond?

Locke 100% says AM I WHEN ? indicating that someone is telling him hes gonna die or is already dead, ie jack ?
December 19th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
played in a loop it says ‘WHEN AM I?’, i put it into itunes thanks to some video and audio ripping and replayed it, definatly when am i. You can just sort of make it out by playing it here.

@Anya: Lol.
He says “When am I?”
You can clearly hear the “n” part in it.
Hey Camp, whats your suggestion?
December 19th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
I think he says “When am I?”.
December 20th, 2008 at 12:34 am
Definitely wheN am I.
December 20th, 2008 at 4:13 am
I wonder why this was so important that they reversed it and put it in the promo? Whenever and whatever causes Locke to say “When am I?” must be something really incredible and jaw dropping. I guess we will find out soon enough!

Locke said “When am I?” after the island moved and the Natives disappeared around him or after he jumped in the “real world” (maybe in Sahara desert!).
Is it possible?
December 20th, 2008 at 11:07 am
It makes sense that Locke is asking “When am I”. I’ve thought for some time that the island doesn’t just allow people to move from place to place, but from time to time. Though it may seem an illogical question to most people, it must be all he cares about when he gets to his destination.
As far as the order in the promo, if he is indeed saying “When am I?”, they chose to reverse the words, but keep them in the right order going forward. Maybe a clue that the losties go back in time, but keep moving forward in their own timeline.

The correct quote he is saying is ”When Am I.” then it is repeated again.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:59 am
he is definetly saying when am i . the second cuts out the beginnning but you can tell he was saying the same thing. 100 percent locke saying it. i think it may have to do with how the island is like, a day ahead of everyone else, maybe it went really far ahead since the island moved. like how ben ended up in october 2005 in the tunisian desert! i think it’s safe to assume that it is locke saying when am i.
