I have a theory… Ben and John Locke’s mothers name is the same. Could that be explaning the connection between Ben John and the island?

You know the geeky sci-fi culture that existed in the early 1970’s that has now transformed into a more scientific, less fictional reality of late (and, Yes, I am sure this will apply 30+ years from now as hindsight is always 20-20)? Well, the kid with the camera in SNEAK PEAK SEASON 5 NO ON HQ is living in the wrong decade… in 15 years he will be wearing either a Pac-man Fever an E.T. Phone Home t-shirtm before becoming the founding father of the next big MICROSOFT.

I want to pitch this out there: For once I would hope that the creators of a tv show that has a hush-hush society of brilliant-minded people existing in a real world striving for real answers to justified issues (Cancer, famine, poverty, racial issues…) could exlain the really crappy video footage that exists (The Dharma Initiative’s Swan Station film was from 1980 according to http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/The_Swan).

I was alive and well in 1980 and I watched a lot of TV to boot. The popular shows then were:

    01. Dallas
    02. 60 Minutes
    03. The Dukes of Hazzard
    04. Private Benjamin
    05. M*A*S*H
    06. The Love Boat
    07. The NBC Tuesday Night Movie
    08. House Calls
    09. Little House On the Prarie (tie)
    09. The Jeffersons (tie)
    11. The Two of Us
    12. Alice
    13. Real People (tie)
    13. Three’s Company (tie)
    15. NBC Movie of the Week (tie)
    15. One Day at a Time (tie)
    17. Too Close For Comfort (tie)
    17. Magnum P.I. (tie)
    19. Diff’rent Strokes (tie)
    19. N.F.L. Monday Night Football (tie)

(Results are courtesy of Nielsen Media Research.)

I still watch a few of these in rerun from time to time and none of them have the degraded quality that the Dharma films do.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO DISNEY WORLD?
If you visit a Disney park be it, Paris or Anaheim or ANY of the Lake Buena Vista parks you will see that they are all “over the top”. Remember how Lost fed us through that same “over the top” phase? We were all learnign about the stations and thinking, “Damn these (who ever they were) people thought of everything. Stay at a Disney resort like the Animal Kingdom Lodge and you will see the same kind of coming out of the blindness “shocker” effects. So why would the films be crappy and don’t give me the aged video thing… They transfered once to VHS (You’d think they would have still had Enhanced Definition Betamax players being the quality was better [500 lines] and they were geeky-smart like that). Now I sit on a powder keg until season 5. Aloha people!

Video that is so degraded and not remastered in a castaway’s world where submarines, time traveling movable land masses are not uncommon. Tell us something like the snowy effects were caused by power surging generator OR a mini pinch device (See Basher’s Ocean’s Eleven quotes: http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/oceans_11.pdf PAGE 87) or something… maybe an experimentation of sorts that twiddled the ideals behind the surge that accompanied the demise of the Swan Station. The show is still top notch and after 4 seasons it has yet to fall into the disrepair that Twin Peaks did in it’s second season.

I miss the not so far gone days of yesteryear where tv seasons started in the fall synchronized with the start of each school year. I am waiting to hear that the reason for the delay is the cost of gas, since they blame that on everything else. I feel fortunate to travel for much of the year as part of my chosen occupation. I record my lost programs to the cable box and watch huge lots at a time minus or sometimes not minus the commercials (thus was the case while watching the finale - The Octagon Global Recruiting advertisment was great! They were looking for both Ichthyologists and Janitors… Mini Bus Drivers and Aeronautical Engineers - ROTFLMAO! via a TV ad announcing the positions would be “unpaid”… AWESOME! I’m in! My position could involve remastering the Dharma films!
